a day in india.

January 31, 2013

Here is a sweet little video I found while browsing the internet the other day. It’s full of all the usual suspects in a video showcasing India (food, music, people cheesing it up for the camera) and yet it’s still a refreshing take on the videos people make of the country.

I saw this video the other day and thought it was definitely worth a share. So ridiculous and so awesome, although I could do without the dubstep soundtrack. Click the image above or the link below to be taken to the Vimeo page to watch.

I was looking through my saved items in Google Reader yesterday and came across this video I saved from way back in December of last year. I finally watched it and it’s pretty good. It’s a 6-minute video of Ken Barber talking about type design and whatnot. Good things. Nicely made and informative. Click the photo above to check it out.

Really this is probably just going to interest Dave.

I stumbled across this little camera grip/stabilizer on Google Reader today. Looks easy to use and from the video they show it looks like to generally does what it’s supposed to do. It’s called the Cam Caddie and it uses the camera weight to balance itself and keep your video shake-free. It looks like it might get a little tight at the top up by the handle if you have a grip attached to your camera body but who knows. It’s also pretty inexpensive and I always like to pass along deals.

My good buddy Dave Wilson released his first short film a few days ago. Good stuff. Click the image above to give it a watch. Highly recommended.

Quick post. Here’s an oldie for ya today. Not necessarily everyone’s favorite but I found it funny the first couple times I watched it. Maybe you’ll like it, maybe you won’t. Click the image or the link below.

off book: type.

I had to cleanse my palette from that last post with some fresh and clean type design stuff. Here is a little ditty from PBS that features Jonathan Hoefler and Tobias Frere-Jones talking about type choice and how it relates to conveying a mood and all that good stuff. You may know their work most recently by the Obama “Change” posters from 2008. Their typeface “Gotham” was used on those posters and pretty much throughout his whole campaign. Good stuff there.
