skulls.

Skulls_pre

I must have been a good boy this year and Nancy sure was kind to me for it. Up above is a coyote skull that she bought for me for the most recent holiday. She sure is awesome…

Anyway, I took today off of work because it was freezing outside (literally) and I did not feel it was a good idea to stand in sub-zero temperatures for over 30 minutes waiting for trains and buses. I ended up mostly bored all day and then I got a bug up my butt to finally do SOMETHING so the entire day didn’t feel wasted. That something was to take some photos of this-here skull. Fun stuff. Next time I am going to attack it with a flash so that it’s got less grain/noise in all the little details.

Hit the jump for more some tasty Black & White photos.

6_6_13-Pre

In my desire to create some new and better content for the blog, I’ve decided to start some new sections. One of those sections is the Vinyl Wednesdays. Another recent idea of mine was to show some of my workflow, from start all the way through to the finish. The first phase of this is showing some photography work of mine and how I “make” an image.

ATeam_pre

The A-Team. The Kauble Klan. The Motley Crew.

This little photo gig is something I handled over the last holiday break when I was in Ohio. It started when my aunt contacted me one day and told me about her kids’ latest adventure. By the way, the “A-Team” name comes from the names of the family being Ann, Al, Alex, Andrew, Adam and Aric. Anyway, she tells me that she wants to potentially get the kids into some modeling. Tells me all about some agency in Ohio that her friend had used and that her child had made a little bit of cash for doing a few shoots. Sounds good. Sounds golden. My little cousins are good lookin’ kids and they could easily do this. Classic American twerps. Blonde/brunette hair, blue eyes, shit-eating grins. Classic kid stuff.

empty seats update.

ES_2013_pre

A few months ago I purchased a domain for the Empty Seats photoblog. I bought it really cheap and just kind of sat on it until now. It’s nothing fancy and it makes no difference if you use it or not, the old link to it will still work. My small reason for snagging it was just in case I wanted to give anybody I met out on the street a link that was easier to remember than the long blog address that WordPress gives you. Maybe this new one will help with that.

By the way, I plan on beginning to update that blog again soon as well. I have loads on new photos that are just itching to be shared. Keep your eyes peeled for it.

dilfest 5: the final set.

September 17, 2012

I recently realized I never put my “short story” version of Dilfest 5 here on the blog. The photos were selected and ordered and I guess I just lost track of it and never posted it. This year’s set is a little larger than past years (about 10 more photos) because of the sheer amount of stuff going on. Oh, what craziness it was.

Enjoy.

oh how time flies.

September 3, 2012

I’ve come to realize that I will never be able to get everything done in a day that I want/need to get done. No matter how hard I try there always seems to be one thing I failed to do on any given day. It’s not necessarily a problem, just an observation.

Recently this has shown itself in the amount of non-work “work” that I get done. I always want to come home and edit photos and make blog posts and just do some generally cool shit. I plan it out at work, I really set my sights on it and then it all goes to shit. I get home, start dinner, eat dinner and then I’m left with a few short hours to do things before I attempt to sleep. Usually, because I’m a nice guy, I try to spend that time with the lady. Unfortunately for the creative side of me that means that the fun photography and design projects get pushed to the side. Now that I realize this issue I’m going to try and find a middle ground. Maybe do a little bit of editing (gotta catch up on a LOT of graffiti stuff) and then hang with the lady.

dilfest 2012: the complete set.

August 18, 2012

The complete set of Dilfest 2012 photos is officially online. Get ’em while they’re hot. And speaking of hot, this year at Dilfest had to be one of the most disgusting days I’ve ever spent outside. Too hot to handle.

My smaller group of the best shots is still to come. That will be posted here tomorrow. For now, visit the Flickr site to check out the madness.
